The challenge

Our client came to us to optimize energy use and reduce operational costs. Their biggest concern was high energy consumption, particularly during winter. The outdoor semi-truck plugins were continuously used regardless of the external temperature.

The solution

During the monitoring phase, we captured consumption data from December and January, then identified and addressed areas for improvement.

• Upgraded existing lighting to energy-efficient LED systems with occupancy-based automation.
• Implemented a temperature-based control system for outdoor semi truck plugins, ensuring power consumption only when necessary.
• Upgraded lighting and improved the power factor for the pressure wash equipment.
• Reviewed the current contract with their utility provider and negotiated a better rate for kilowatt hours.

The results

Our approach led to substantial cost reduction and decreased energy consumption across the facility. Automated systems and upgrades improved operational efficiency, and a more favourable utility contract offered even more value. The changes also helped reduce the company’s environmental footprint.
