South Pointe Honda

This award-winning dealership sells new and pre-owned vehicles and provides after-sales services, including maintenance and repairs. They wanted to substantially reduce energy costs while maintaining high service standards.

The challenge

South Pointe Honda’s goal was to reduce energy costs, particularly peak demand charges, without sacrificing customer and staff comfort. The building’s HVAC and compressed air systems were the major energy consumers.

The two biggest energy consumers were the HVAC and compressed air systems.

The solution

  • Although both systems contributed to the high costs, we addressed each separately.
  • HVAC: Rather than constantly keeping it running, we implemented zone-based occupancy sensors to reduce peak usage and overall consumption significantly.
  • Compressed air system: An automated system was introduced to alternate compressor operation, eliminating energy waste from continuous running.

The results

In the end, we delivered on every goal and then some. South Pointe Honda got substantial savings, improved its operational efficiency, maintained the comfort of its spaces, and demonstrated a commitment to sustainability.
